About Us

What happens on Sunday Mornings?

Whether a first time guest or a regular attender, you will receive a friendly and inviting welcome when you enter our building.  Our service begins at 10:00 am and features contemporary and classic worship songs and choruses with a full worship band.  Our services have one purpose; connect with the heart of God in worship.  Our Pastors' teaching is grounded in the Bible and intended to make the scriptures come alive and find application to everyday life.  We believe it is honoring to speak a person's name, therefore, one of our customs is that everyone wear a name tag. This puts everyone at ease and helps our guests feel comfortable from their very first time with us.

Is there anything for my kids on Sunday mornings?

Absolutely.  Nursery and classes for kids are available.  These classes are designed to teach kids about their place in God's world.  For more information, see the Kids Quest and Student Ministries tabs Under Connect at the top of this page.

What happens during the week?

Various opportunities for spiritual growth and community service happen each week.  Some of these gatherings occur at church while many happen in homes throughout the community.  To learn more check out the Connect tab at the top of this page.

What's available for Junior and Senior High Students during the week?

Our students meet for fun and small groups at THE REFUGE: Sr. High on Tuesday nights and Jr. High on Wednesday nights.  Our students also enjoy regularly scheduled special events including summer and winter camps, and community service projects.  For up-to-date information visit the Student Ministries page.

Are you involved in the community?

This is one of our core values.  We desire to be a church that is visible and connected with our community.  We look for ways to serve the greater area of the River Valley.  Presently, we have people volunteering time in our schools, our local governments, local charities and providing food for the hungry.

Our Mission

Be authentic followers of Jesus Christ and see others throughout the River Valley experience a life changing relationship with Him.

Our Core Values

Prayer: the first and most important aspect of everything we do.

Connections: in the community and small groups.

Teaching/Preaching: grounded in the Scriptures with practical application to our lives.

Make Jesus Known: in our communities and around the world.

What we believe about...

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 5:48; Matthew 28:19.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He was perfectly righteous, without sin, though he was tempted as we are,  He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice.  All who believe in Him are justified by His blood which satisfied God's judgement against sin.  He rose from the dead according to the scriptures and is now at the right hand of Majesty on High as our great High Priest.  He will come again to establish His Kingdom, righteousness and peace. Phillipians 2:6-11; Luke 1:34-38; 1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:9; Acts 2:23-24; Matthew 26:64.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a divine person who indwells, guides, teaches, empowers and gifts the believer.  He convinces of sin, righteousness and judgement. John 14:15-18; John 16:13; Acts 1:8; John 16:7-11.

The Bible

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are the complete revelation of his will for the salvation of mankind. The Scriptures constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:15-16.

Man was created in the image and likeness of God: as a result of sin he incurred physical and spiritual death. All of mankind is born with a sinful nature, we are separated from life with God, and can be saved only through the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. The fate of the unrepentant and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment; and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss. Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; Revelations 21:1-4. Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life and become the children of God. Titus 3:4-7.

Growing in God

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, progressively be set apart from sin and living as one set free from fleshly and sinful practices. The Holy Spirit fills the believer with God’s power to live righteously and to serve effectively. This sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit within the believer is both a momentary and a progressive experience in the inner life and witnessed by fruits of the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Acts 1:8; Romans 6:1-14; Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5.

Divine Healing

Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are practiced by the Church. Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:13-16.

The Church and God's Kingdom

The church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through his blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit.  Christ is the head of the body, the Church, which has been commissioned by him to go into all the world as witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.  The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God; for edification through the Word of God and the employment of spiritual gifts; and for prayer, fellowship, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47.

The Future

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the just, a resurrection unto life; for the unjust, a resurrection unto judgement. 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; John 5:28-29.

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible and pre-millennial. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth, which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. Hebrews 10:37

Sacramento Arab Ministries

Arab American Learning Center - RMCC has been a longtime supporter of this important work among refugees from the Middle East. Raed Awabdeh along with his wife, Manar, and their incredible team provide these displaced, and often traumatized families with the help they so desperately need to settle into new lives in the United States.  In reaching out to them in such vital ways they are given many opportunities to share with them the hope of the Gospel in Jesus.
